Julie Pena, M.D., is a magna cum laude graduate of The University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received her Medical Degree at Northwestern University School of Medicine. Dr. Pena completed pathology and dermatology residency programs at The University of Florida College of Medicine and at Southern Illinois University, respectively, along with a one-year internship in internal medicine at Northwestern University School of Medicine. During her dermatology residency, she completed additional surgical training under the direction of Mohs Micrographic surgeon Dr. Robert Buzzell.

Dr. Pena is a board certified dermatologist. She is a Fellow at the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, and the American College of Phlebology. She specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and cosmetic dermatology. Due to her comprehensive background in pathology, dermatology, and Mohs Micrographic surgery, she is uniquely qualified to treat all skin care concerns.

Skin Solutions Dermatology was founded in 2001 by Dr. Pena. Her reputation as an exceptional physician and surgeon, along with her enthusiastic approach to dermatology, has resulted in significant growth of the practice. By design, however, Dr. Pena limits this growth in order to participate in the care of all Skin Solutions patients.
